Smoothie season is upon us! The weather is getting warmer (or trying to), which means fresh fruit is making its way to grocery stores and farmer stands. To welcome spring and the harvest that comes with it, I’m introducing my April smoothie bowl recipe—berry banana, a blend of blueberries, strawberries, bananas, yogurt and oats.
I’m eager to start testing out some smoothie bowl recipes and sharing a new one with you each month. Why every month you ask? Well, after making my first smoothie bowl I became obsessed with how beautiful they look and how excited I get to eat it in the morning. So of course I want to share that with my readers!
To start I’m sharing my go-to smoothie bowl recipe, which of course includes blueberries because they’re my favorite fruit! I will make this smoothie about two or three times a week with Greek yogurt, blueberries, oats and anything else I have in the kitchen.
The beauty of smoothie bowls is that they are so easy to make. Put your ingredients in the blender, poor it into the bowl and top with your favorite ingredients! The most difficult part of that equation is making the toppings look flawless. I tried to rearranging a banana slice and it dove under the smoothie surface. I didn’t find it again until I sat down and enjoyed my breakfast.
Try out this smoothie bowl recipe and feel free to get creative. Raspberries or blackberries would make a wonderful addition to the berry banana bowl too. Check back in May for a new smoothie bowl recipe!
