4th of July Cookies

These 4th of July cookies are loaded with red, white, and blue M&M's and sprinkles. This simple cookie dough recipe makes soft, chewy cookies!

Whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt.

Set aside...

In another bowl beat together the butter and both brown and granulated sugars.

Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla.

Beat again until just incorporated.

Add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Stir in the m&m's and sprinkles by hand with a spatula.

Chill the dough in the fridge for 2+ hours.

When ready, preheat oven to 350 F and prepare baking sheet.

Scoop heaping tablespoons of cookie dough and roll into balls. Then place on the baking sheet.

Bake for 12 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
