INGREDIENTS – Oreo Cookies – Butter (melted) –  Granulated sugar – Cornstarch – Unsweetened cocoa powder – Salt – Milk – Egg yolks – Bittersweet chocolate -Unsalted butter - Pure vanilla extract -Confectioners' sugar

1. Crush Oreo cookies in a zip-top bag or a food processor. Then mix in melted butter until it is absorbed.

2. Press the mixture evenly into the pie plate.

3. Bake the pie crust at 350 F for 10 to 12 minutes and leave to cool completely.

4. Whisk sugar, cornstarch, cocoa powder and salt in a saucepan.

5. Whisk in the milk. Then cook the mixture on a medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer and stir occasionally.

6. Whisk 1/4 cup of the hot mixture with egg yolks.

7. Pour the egg yolk mixture into the hot mixture and stir continuously as the mixture simmers.

8. Once large bubbles begin to burst on the surface of the mixture, scrape the sides and bottom of the saucepan.

9. Remove the mixture from the heat. Then add chopped chocolate, butter and vanilla to the hot mixture. Stir until melted.

10. Pour the mixture into the cool pie crust. Then smooth mixture using an off-set spatula.

11. Cover the pie with a plastic wrap and press it down so it touches the filling. Chill the pie for 8 hours overnight.

12. Prepare whipped cream topping, spread it over the pie and garnish with chocolate curls or shavings.
