Sugar Cookie Bars

These sugar cookie bars are topped with buttercream frosting and colorful sprinkles. This easy recipe is a fun and sweet dessert!

Tip: Gather your ingredients first to save some time.

First, preheat the oven to 350 F.

Whisk together dry ingredients.

Beat the butter with an electric mixer.

Then beat in the sugar.

Then beat in vanilla and almond extract.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients...

...Mix just until combined.

Transfer to prepared pan and spread even with a spatula.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Remove from oven when the cookie top is golden brown.

Cool while you make the frosting.

Gather buttercream frosting ingredients.

It will take about 5 minutes to get fluffy.

Whip the butter with a standing mixer.

Turn the mixer down to low speed.

Gradually add powdered sugar.

Turn the mixer up to medium speed.

Add the vanilla and beat until fluffy.

Use an offset spatula to spread the frosting on the cooled cookie.

Add sprinkles and cut into cookie bars!
