Tajin powder, coarse salt, or sugar, for rimming the glass
Fresh blackberries, for garnish
Instructions
Blackberry Purée
In a medium saucepan set over medium heat, stir together the blackberries, sugar, and lime juice. Bring to a low simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes. Strain the mixture into a small bowl through a fine mesh strainer, pressing down with a rubber spatula to extract as much puree as possible. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Blackberry Margaritas
Pour the Tajin, salt, or sugar (or a combo of them!) on a small plate in an even layer. Rub a lime wedge around the outside rim of a rocks glass, then rotate the edge of the glass in the plate contents until the rim is covered.
In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 ½ to 2 ounces blackberry puree, tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar (to taste). Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 15-20 seconds, until well chilled.
Add ice cubes to the prepared serving glass. Garnish with a few fresh blackberries on a skewer.
