Last weekend I visited my sister at college to see her perform her senior recital. I knew Taylor could sing, she’s been singing in school musicals and her a cappella group for years now. But this recital was something different. She was absolutely, unbelievably breathtaking.
An hour performance singing in four different languages–that is an accomplishment. The chosen songs spanned over three centuries and truly exemplified her ability to sing soprano. Her stage presence was hypnotizing as she successfully captured the emotion in each individual song. Everybody watching could tell how passionate she was about this performance. After working toward this moment her entire college career, she nailed it and I am incredibly proud of you, Taylor.
Her recital was followed by a reception and I knew I had to bake her something extra special. There was a request to bake a cake with her face on it, but unfortunately that did not happen. Instead, I pulled out my red velvet cupcakes recipe and cream cheese frosting. To add a little personal touch, I piped chocolate music notes to garnish the treats. The mini size was perfect finger food for the reception and all her friends were huge fans of the cream cheese frosting!
