25 Days of Baking: Day 15
Time to change it up. The majority of my Christmas recipes have been desserts, particularly cookies and candy. Today I decided to bake something different—scones.
I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather recently and whenever that happens my instant reaction is to take some Vitamin C. While browsing recipes, I stumbled upon these Cranberry Orange Scones. I thought, “Perfect, it’s not a dessert, but still Christmas themed, and I get some Vitamin C!” I have never made scones before so I was excited to face yet another baking challenge.
After some sufficient research, I felt confident enough to take on the task. It proved to be completely doable. Topped with an orange glaze, these scones are a great Christmas-y breakfast. The one word of advice I will give you is to be attentive while mixing your dough. If you over mix, it will result in tough scones, which nobody likes!
In an effort to get better I refrained from singing today. Instead I listened to “Nutcracker March” by Tchaikovsky… brings me back to the days when I danced ballet!
