Cake mix waffles are the best birthday breakfast. Doused in whipped cream, maple syrup and sprinkles. these waffles are easy and fun to make!
It’s my birthday! Today I am fully embracing the phrase “treat yo self” and indulging in birthday cake mix waffles for breakfast (making my gal Leslie Knope proud).
I don’t treat myself to such a decadent breakfast on a daily basis, but every now and then you just have to treat yourself to something special. I can’t think of any better excuse than it being a birthday.
Imagine waking up one morning and just saying “f*ck it” I’m going all out. Well, that’s what I did for my birthday.
That smile right there is the smile of a girl who already ate an entire waffle with whipped cream and is going back for a second serving. No hesitation, just going for it. And you would too if you tried these birthday cake mix waffles.
They are the breakfast equivalent to birthday cake. They are light and fluffy and loaded with rainbow sprinkles. These waffles also take minutes to make thanks to the primary ingredient: cake mix.
Simply whisk the cake mix together with oil, water, eggs and sprinkles and you have the batter for birthday cake mix waffles!
And what would waffles be without the toppings? I am all about the whipped cream and maple syrup (the good kind too). Just douse it on and use the waffle as a vehicle to get the toppings into my mouth. Plus, this plate got a generous helping of sprinkles that immediately put a smile on my face 🙂
I think we can all agree that waking up to a plate of waffles on your birthday is the ultimate “treat yo self” moment!
